Old Age?

The "new" old is 71 and over? According to a recent survey most Americans now consider old age to be 71+. What does that make the "new" middle age? What about teen age? I've had this conversation recently with several friends of mine. We're all roughly the same age, 29-34. My receding hairline, two kids, a 401k, and a 4 door sedan don't really announce the fact that I'm a young man any longer. So if I'm not young anymore then I must be in the next category--middle age. Right? My wife disputes this way of thinking and argues vigorously against it. However, she's younger than me. I don't mind though. I'm looking forward to being an old crumudgeon, driving too slow on the highway, wearing my pants too high, and still searching for Natalee Holloway.

There is a sure way in the south for a man to tell if you have grown "old". That is when he starts wearing plaid shirts and khaki pants. It is the "unoffical" uniform of old southern men.

The reference to Natalie Holloway was really uncalled for. Afterall, In a few years it could be your daughter you are looking for not someone eles.
