Old Age?

The "new" old is 71 and over? According to a recent survey most Americans now consider old age to be 71+. What does that make the "new" middle age? What about teen age? I've had this conversation recently with several friends of mine. We're all roughly the same age, 29-34. My receding hairline, two kids, a 401k, and a 4 door sedan don't really announce the fact that I'm a young man any longer. So if I'm not young anymore then I must be in the next category--middle age. Right? My wife disputes this way of thinking and argues vigorously against it. However, she's younger than me. I don't mind though. I'm looking forward to being an old crumudgeon, driving too slow on the highway, wearing my pants too high, and still searching for Natalee Holloway.

Coke Man

Yesterday I went on a rant over the size of the bottled water in our drink machine. They're literally half the size of your ordinary twenty ounce soda. I went on and on about "the man". When I got back from lunch there were six cases of bottled water in the reception area. "The Man" had heard my pleas for justice and equality and delivered me from my thirst. A BIG thanks to the Coke Man for all the water. We distributed it so everyone could share all the varieties (lemon, black cherry, strawberry, raspberry, . . .). As it turns out, the Coca-Cola distributor here in Jackson doesn't even service our machine. It's serviced by a vending company. So here's to the Coke Man: a true servant to the people, a deliverer (literally) of peace in concessions, and thwarter of the evils of a vending machine rip-off. clink-clink.

A Brand New Good Morning

Hello to everyone. This is a new undertaking here at News/Talk 101.5 FM. The "Daybreak" blog is the first show to host a blog and we hope it takes off. We'll try to post something every morning so check in often. We'll focus primarily on that morning's show, but we may throw in some personal flava from time to time. Feel free to participate and share whatever you feel. If anything good shows up here it may be shared on the air, so fire away. Welcome and thanks for listening to the show.
